SOFT LIMITS, May 2008
Room 404, Brown Center, MICA, Baltimore
As part of MICA Undergraduate Thesis Show
"Beyond a certain limit, time stops and the wavelength becomes infinite. The wave no longer exists. The light goes out."
Any signal must travel through a medium that limits, translates, or otherwise alters it in some way. Getting from one point to another through these limits can either strenghten or weaken the original intent. Soft Limits is a collection of gestures and archival interpretations that demonstrate a futile reach past the limits of their medium, only to dissolve or disappear through these surfaces. It's at the moment and location of their disappearance that the limit is revealed.
Pieces exhibited:
Soft 404
The Original Goth Lolita (Yukiko Okada, Toshiba)
Dreamcaptchas
The rest remains offline and undocumented
This is meant as the first in an ongoing series of Soft Limit demonstrations.

Some exhibition dates featured excerpts from the mix "BONE TRANCE & EHARMONY" made by Mark Brown with collaborative input
